Selective Fluorimetric Detection of Pyrimidine Nucleotides in Neutral Aqueous Solution with a Styrylpyridine-Based Cyclophane

A styrylpyridine-containing cyclophane with diethylenetriamine linkers is presented as a host system whose association representative nucleotides was examined photometric and fluorimetric titrations. The spectrometric titrations revealed the formation of 1:1 complexes log Kb values in range 2.3–3.2 for pyrimidine TMP (thymidine monophosphate), TTP triphosphate) CMP (cytidine monophosphate) 3.8–5.0 purine AMP (adenosine ATP triphosphate), dGMP (deoxyguanosine monophosphate). Notably, neutral buffer solution, response to complex depends on type nucleotide. Hence, quenching already weak fluorescence observed bases, whereas bases TMP, TTP, resulted significant light-up effect. Thus, it demonstrated that styrylpyridine unit useful complementary fluorophore development selective nucleotide-targeting fluorescent probes based alkylamine-linked cyclophanes.
